Artemis Woman (US) has made the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies in America at #464. And, we are ranked #21 in the Top 100 Consumer Products Companies!
This is Inc. Magazine's 27th year of naming private, entrepreneurial-minded companies based on three-year sales growth. And in these economic times, this is quite an accomplishment.
Not only do we share this distinction with past honorees such as Microsoft, Oracle & GoDaddy, but we are one of 44 companies on this year's list that are run by women! Imagine, only 44 out of these top 500 companies are run by women!
Founded in 2002 by Ann Buivid and Lisa Kable, two former Remington Products Personal Care Division executives -- Ann as company president and Lisa as marketing director -- Artemis Woman, with only 7 full-time employees, had revenues of $4.1 million, growing at a rate of 679% over the past three years.
"Our big break came in 2006 when we launched into the mass-market arena with Wal-Mart with a Mother's Day promotion for our popular Heel Smoother," said company co-founder Ann Buivid. "Target followed and from there the business took off." Lisa Kable added that the company's proudest achievement came when they hit profitability, the ultimate measure of performance.
